our philosophy
The philosophy of the Wilmette Wings Soccer Club is to develop children
into skillful team players who love the game of soccer. Through the game
of soccer the Wilmette Wings Soccer Club hopes to instill within all of its
players/members the values of commitment, hard work, persistence, team work,
integrity, a sense of community, and the desire to strive for excellence in
his/her effort.
The Wings takes a developmental approach towards teaching the game of
soccer. The curriculum is designed to provide the appropriate level of
competition and tactics for each team's age and ability level. The club
provides a professional coaching environment that emphasizes the mastery
of the fundamentals and promotes attacking soccer in a fun-filled but
organized, structured, and disciplined environment.
The Wilmette Wings Soccer Club acknowledges that other sports, social,
religious, and educational experiences are important to successfully developing
a child into a well rounded individual and into a solid citizen. The Wilmette
Wings encourages children to participate in these other activities but expects
all of its players/members to honor his/her commitment to the club by
attending practices, games, tournaments, and other Wilmette Wings S.C. events.
