Premier Program Overview

The Premier Program at the Wilmette Wings begins at the U12 boys & girls level and continues to U14.  The Premier Program is a distinction reserved for the top team at each age group from U12 to U14.  Players are expected to show a higher level of commitment and are placed in highly competitive training and game environments.  Premier teams will also have added training sessions and compete in extra tournaments throughout the season.  

U12/U14 Premier Program Overview

  • Teams will have a roster size of approximately 14 to 18 players
  • Teams will compete against other local clubs and throughout the chicagoland area
  • Boys teams will compete in the Young Sportsman Soccer League - YSSL
  • Girls teams will compete in the Illinios Women's Soccer League - IWSL
  • Outdoor practices and games will be held at Avoca Park, Community Playfields (or similar Wilmette location)
  • Players will receive individualed player progress reports
  • Goalkeeper Specific Training
  • Participation in at least 3 tournament throughout the year
  • Ability to compete in the Elite Division (YSSL) or Champions Division (IWSL). 
  • Option to compete in State Cup
  • Option to compete in additional out of State Tournaments
  • Addtional mandatory training throughout the Fall, Winter, Spring

Fall Season - Mid-August through Mid-November

  • Two mandatory 90 minute training sessions per week
  • One mandatory 90 minute rotating training session every other week
  • 10 Fall League games
  • Participation in two local or out of state tournamens - previous tournaments include:
    • Palatine Celtics Cup (Labor Day Weekend)
    • Grove United Shootout (Labor Weekend)
    • Sockers Nike Classic Cup (10/7 - 10/9)
    • GLSA Octoberfest (10/7 - 10/9)
    • Great Lakes Soccer Challenge (9/17 - 9/19)
    • Adidas Cup - Rockford (Labor Day Weekend)

Winter Season - January through Mid-March

  • One mandatory 90 minute training session per week
  • Practices will be held at a soccer specific indoor facility
  • 9 to 12 Winter Indoor League Games.  Typically one game per week on the weekends
  • Previous Indoor league participation includes: 
    • Palantine Soccer City
    • Highland Park Field House
    • YMCA Lattof Des Plaines
  • Option to participate in Winter Tournament

Spring Season - April through Mid-June

  • Two mandatory 90 minute training sessions per week
  • One mandatory 90 minute rotating training session every other week
  • 8 Spring League games
  • Participation in one or two local or out of state tournaments - previous tournaments include:
    • Park Ridge Memorial Day Tournament (Memorial Day Weekend)
    • Libertyville Cup (Memorial Day Weekend)
    • Hawks Cup (5/11 - 5/13)
    • Sockers Nike Classic Cup
    • Eclipse Spring Classic
