After a slow start the U8 red boys almost made a great comeback to win the game. Meeting the top team of the league last year, the Magic, I knew the boys would be up to a challenge. After a forgettable first ten minutes where the Magic scored four unanswered goals things looked bleak. Then something magical happened. The boys decided to step up their play and the energy of the game changed. We managed to keep them scoreless the rest of the half and we scored a goal to finish at halftime down 4-1. The second half was wonderful to watch. While the magic depended on one player we played as team. Our positioning and passing helped us take control of the game. We beat them 2-1 in the second half proving this team has a lot of fight. I am very proud of the boys for the heart they showed when things got though. I will continue to improve your son’s skills and knowledge of the game this week at practice.
I am very proud of the boys this season. After losing the first game of the year the U8 Red boys went on an amazing 8-1 run to finish the season. I was very happy with the effort showed during practice and in games by each one of the U8 Red Boys. Each game I had to instruct the boys less and less on where to be and when to shift with the ball. Special thanks to the parents for your support, and getting the kids to practice and games on time. Baby Emma wishes to say thank you for the generous gift. It will come in handy.
